Daniel Cruz (Coco Martin) will not leave the Alcantara Hacienda even though Tomas Alcantara (Joem Bascon) already dragged him with a horse. Daniel got bruises and arm injury but still lives at the horses' stable to protect Katerina Alcantara (Julia Montes). Daniel don't want to be away from Katerina as what he promised to Katerina's father, William Alcantara (Joel Torre). Daniel promised to take care of Katerina and let her finish College first before they can continue their relationship. Daniel is willing to sacrifice everything just to be with Katerina, making sure that Katerina is okay. While Daniel is resting at the Horses' stable, Marco Montenegro (Richard Gomez) visited, bringing medicines and offered help. Marco offered Daniel to work at the Montenegro Hacienda so that he will not suffer from Tomas' maltreatment anymore. Daniel refused Marco's help, giving worries to Virginia Cruz (Susan Roces), Daniel's grandmother. Later on when Marco already left Daniel alone, Daniel had a conversation to Virginia about what Tomas did to him. Virginia knows that Daniel is not guilty of Tomas' accusations but asked Daniel about it. Virginia tests Daniel if he will surely defend himself from the accusations against him.
