At the Guidotti's residence, Emilia "Emily" Cardenas/Guidotti (Dawn Zulueta) suspected Margaret Cruz/Montenegro (Helen Gamboa) who kept seeing Miguel Ramos (Nonie Buencamino) secretly. Emily then went to the Montenegro's residence and confronted Margaret without doubts about what she thought. Emily accused Margaret having communication with Miguel and is responsible of the shoot out during her engagement party. Margaret, on the other hand, felt insulted by Emily's accusations and told Emily not to be comfortable with her thoughts because they both know that Miguel would do everything to stop Emily from marrying Marco Montenegro (Richard Gomez). Later that time, Emily went back home and was surprised to see her son, Daniel Cruz/Guidotti (Coco Martin), having bruises all over his body. Simultaneously, Virginia Cruz (Susan Roces) was very mad looking at Daniel's bruises and asked Daniel him about the person responsible for his bruises. Daniel, on the other hand, lied to both Virginia and Emily, telling them that he encountered robbers.

Daniel did not inform his family that Tomas Alcantara (Joem Bascon) and Nathaniel "Nathan" Montenegro (Paolo Avelino) are responsible for his bruises. Concurrently, at a restaurant, Johanna Montenegro (Melissa Ricks) was disappointed to Tomas, for arriving late. Tomas apologized to Johanna for coming late because he helped Nathan finding Katerina Alcantara/Montenegro (Julia Montes). Johanna, on the other hand, was very angry when she found out that Tomas gave more attention to Katerina than her. Johanna then walked out and went to see Daniel at the wine bar where Daniel works. Johanna then saw Daniel's bruises and knew that Nathan and Tomas were responsible. After awhile, Johanna tried to comfort Daniel and convince him to use her as a tool for his revenge towards Tomas but Daniel rejected her offer. Johanna got offended by Daniel's rejection and hoped that Daniel won't find Katerina. Later that time, Johanna called Tomas, hoping for a chance to see each other and reconcile but Tomas lied to Johanna again. Tomas had no idea that Johanna followed him on his way to where he hides Katerina. Upon their arrival to the place where Tomas hid Katerina, Johanna thought that Tomas had another woman. Surprisingly, Johanna saw Katerina imprisoned at the abandoned house by her own brother, Tomas.
